Please note that the networking reception being coordinated by our seminar advisor, entrepreneur George Martin, will be held at Fordville in Florham Park.  Students are requested to wear professional attire [suit/tie/dress shoes].  If you need transportation to the event, please contact Prof. Murphy.

Student Updates 22 March

Reminder: Seminar session for the Madison Historical Society Project will be held at the Grace Episcopal Church, the second church down from the Drew campus going in the direction of midtown Madison.  It is the light brick colored building.  Please go towards the back of the building and enter through the rear entrance.  The meeting room is near the kitchen.  New information: all participants are requested to arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Individual conferences
Students: Please contact me via email ASAP to let me know whether you may be able to meet with me individually on Friday 3/24 for a brief overview of your seminar experience and matters you may need to explore with me. I would like to schedule the sessions [15 minutes or more if you need it] between 2 and 5 p.m., most of which would take place between 2:15 and 4 p.m.  If you are unable to meet on Friday afternoon, then we can schedule your session later in the day, between 5 and 6:30 p.m.  I look forward to hearing from each of you.  At that time, we will discuss your seminar performance level as well.
 
Guests at sessions
You will be expected to bring guests to the sessions on 3/30 and on 4/13. Mr. Martin will be having a guest panel as the highlight for the evening.  The theme for the evening will be posted ahead of time on the web site. Please visit the website to find out where the session will take place.
 
Panel Discussion on March 30th -- Founder's Room, Mead Hall, 7 - 9:30 P.M.
 
Information provided by seminar advisor and Madison-based entrepreneur George Martin who is coordinating and moderating the event:
 
Panel on"PERSPICACITY, PERSPIRATION, PERSUASION, PANACHE & PLANNING--THE 5-P'S OF BLACK ENTREPRENEURIAL SUCCESS" . The panel will consist of a cross section of Black individuals who possess entrepreneurial qualities regardless of being in their own business. They will share with participants what is required to be successful in variety of professions and entrepreneurial leanings. The session will provide each student with a perspective on success traits, skills and business views. The panel will include:
  • Bill D. Primus--CEO Urban League of Morris County & ULMC Enterprise Chairman of the Board
  • Zach Lewis--BrilliantLewis--CEO --an environmental company
  • Jackie Wilson--100 Black men and former AT&T Executive
  • Ken Edwards--CEO and President of his own CPA firm
  • Marysol Berisol--Principal of local elementary School & exemplary educator
